Teenage Girls Reporting Higher Levels Of Stress Than Male Counterparts

Teenage girls are more likely to report high levels of stress, as compared to teenage boys.

That’s from a Statistics Canada report titled “Women in Canada: The Girl Child.”

68.8% of 15-17 year old girls rated their mental health as very good or excellent, compared to 76.4% of boys the same age.

When it comes to stress, just under a quarter of girls aged 15 to 17 reported most of their days as quite a bit or extremely stressful.

That was about double the rate for teen boys.

And in terms of mood or anxiety disorders, teen girls were up to twice as likely as boys to report having been diagnosed.
