Local marijuana producer Organigram is going to vigorously defend themselves against a proposed class action lawsuit according to CEO Denis Arsenault.
That’s after a notice of proceeding was filed against the company in Nova Scotia this week in relation to the discovery of pesticides in medicinal marijuana.
Arsenault says customers are getting account credits worth 100% of the purchase price of the recalled product.
He adds they have put new growing and harvesting protocols in place, and no marijuana since the recall has tested negative for pesticides.
Starting next week, Arsenault says they will post all testing results on their website.
From a financial perspective, Organigram has already allocated $2.26 million to cover losses associated with the recall.
