In the NHL, Connor McDavid got his 23rd goal of the season but it was not enough as the Pens beat the Oilers 3-2 in a shootout. Phil Kessel and Sidney Crosby both scored in the shootout.

The Blues got by the Ducks 4-3, the Red Wings doubled the Blackhawks 4-2, Minnesota beat up Florida 7-4, Columbus got by Buffalo 4-3.
In the NBA, Atlanta over Toronto 105-99, the Timberwolves snuck by the Warriors 103-102, the Mavs over the Nets 105-96, the Lakers came up short against the Wizards as Washington beat them 130-122, Denver beat Boston 119-99 and the Rockets beat the Bulls 115-94.
