After a weekend full of speculation on a snap election this fall, Premier Brian Gallant confirmed to reporters in Fredericton what had already been released.
He said there was no election and that he had a great tea and coffee with the Lieutenant Governor Jocelyne Roy-Vienneau and they talked about the upcoming session of the Legislature.
Gallant was asked why the goverment would let everyone think there was an election call until today.
He said he did not write the media advisory and suggested the reporters take it up with whoever did.
He did say he is pleased with the what his government has accomplished when it comes to the platform they laid out during the 2014 election.
Gallant says the Speech from the Throne will focus on government prioritiies like growing the economy and strengthening education and healthcare.
