CTF Says Taxpayers To Pay More and Get Less

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling this a nickel and dime budget

Atlantic director Kevin Lacey says taxpayers will pay more and get less.

“If New Brunswickers take the bus, have a beer after work, they are going to end up paying more. The higher Employment Insurance premiums mean your paycheque is going to get a little lighter,” he notes.

Lacey says struggling New Brunswick families are already facing higher provincial taxes and this budget will only make matters worse.

Lacey also calls the staggering projected deficit troublesome because the huge interest payments will make it difficult for government going forward to deliver public services and lower taxes in the future.
