Saint John Man Charged With Murder In 2005 Halifax Death

Halifax Regional Police have announced a Saint John man has been charged with second-degree murder in the 2005 homicide of Naomi Kidston.

The 26-year-old was found dead inside an apartment on River Road in Halifax. Police say that through the investigation it was determined that Kidston was last seen alive in the early morning hours of June 7 at the home her body was found.

Police officers, including officers from the Saint John police, arrested 50-year-old Donald Peters without resistence on Stanley Street on Wednesday. He was brought back to Halifax.

“Cold Case investigators have worked diligently on this murder case since Naomi’s death in 2005,” a release on the Halifax Regional police website says. “We’re hopeful that today’s developments will provide some measure of comfort to her family and friends.”
