Province Plans To Sell Legal Recreational Pot Through NB Liquor Subsidiary

New Brunswick plans to sell legal recreational marijuana through a subsidiary of NB Liquor in stand-alone stores.

The federal government plans to legalize recreational marijuana in July of 2018.

President and CEO of NB Liquor Brian Harriman says in a release that this retail model will run with more strict regulation and control that their liquor stores but says it will still be a pleasant shopping experience for New Brunswickers.

NB Liquor has put out a tender for possible locations to sell legal pot. There will be up to 20 retail locations in 15 communities though more could be added.
