My NB/Mon NB 150 Draws Thousands Of Students to Saint John

Music, speakers, virtual reality simulators, robots, dinosaurs and more.

Just some of what was available at the first ever My 150/Mon 150 event aimed to stopping the out-migration of youth from our province.

Thousands of students from middle school to high school took part in the event at Harbour Station.

Hayley Belyea is a grade 7 student at Harry Miller middle school and tells us she wants to be a professional soccer player when she finishes school.

Acadia News asked her if she thinks she can do that in New Brunswick and she thinks maybe she can somewhere else in Canada.

Marin MacPherson is in Grade 7 at Harry Miller middle school.

She says she has a lot of time to think about it since she’s only 12 but right now she plans to go to university here and maybe leave after that but she thinks she will stay.

Elections NB had a popular display where they let the students use the voting machine used in real elections with a fake ballot featuring candidates like Sidney Crosby and Taylor Swift.
