Thursday Morning Sports For November 2nd

The Houston Astros have won their first ever World Series with a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the seventh and deciding game. The Astros scored five runs in the first and second innings off Dodger starter Yu Darvish. George Springer hit another homer to give him five in the World Series which ties a record and he was named the Most Valuable Player. Carlos Correa celebrated the title with an on field proposal of marraige to his girlfriend who accepted.

In the NHL, Patrick Marleau scored the winner early in the third period as the Toronto Maple Leafs broke a three game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Anaheim…….Evgeni Malkin’s tiebreaking goal on a power play in the third period gave Pittsburgh a 3-2 win over Edmonton…..Chicago broke a three game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Philadelphia as Corey Crawford made 35 saves for the shutout…..In other play, it was New Jersey 2 Vancouver 0 and San Jose 4 Nashville 1.

In the NBA, Toronto lost in Denver to the Nuggets 129-111 while the Boston Celtics won their 6th in a row, 116-86 over Sacramento as Kyhrie Irving scores 22 points…..Elsewhere, it was Charlotte 126 Milwaukee 121…..Philadelphia 119 Atlanta 109…..Indiana 124 Cleveland 107…..Phoenix 122 Washington 116….Miami 97 Chicago 91……Orlando 101 Memphis 99…..Houston 119 New York 97……Minnesota 104 New Orleans 98…..Utah 112 Portland 103 (OT) and the Los Angeles Clippers 119 Dallas 98.
