Many local residents have learned their lesson when it comes to stopping at a stop sign.
An initiative by the West District RCMP for the month of October saw sixty-eight people being fined for infractions in St. Stephen and McAdam.
Sgt. Peter Stubbs with St. Stephen RCMP says fifty-two of those drivers were ticketed in the first two weeks of the initiative alone.
He says they are pleased to see people are starting to get the message that you need to come to a complete stop at a stop sign before proceeding.
The fine for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign is $172.50.
