Forum Focuses On Francophone Immigration

Francophone immigration will be the focus of a two-day forum of federal, provincial and territorial ministers being held in Moncton.

Besides New Brunswick and Quebec, many governments across Canada have been interested in francophone immigration.

Last summer, the country’s 13 premiers agreed to ask the federal government to increase the level of francophone immigration outside Quebec to 5 percent.

In 2015, that figure represented 1.3 percent of all newcomers.

The forum is being later today and tomorrow at the Delta Beausejour and it is not open to the public.
