Dominic Leblanc says the Federal government may be able to help by examining their real estate portfolio.
He says the government is prepared to sit down with municipalities and other groups and see what they can do to transfer surplus assets, buildings or land to different organizations in the fight to provide affordable housing to everybody.
In the new budget, the Trudeau government pledges to invest more than 11 billion dollars over 11 years in affordable housing.
Leblanc told the crowd at the Saint John Y that he’ll be back in a couple of weeks with the specifics.
