UPDATED: Tyler Noel Pleads Guilty To Second Degree Murder And Arson In Death Of Moncton Teen

In Moncton court today, Tyler Dominique Noel admitted his role in stabbing a Moncton teenager to death in December of 2015.

Noel pleaded guilty to arson and second degree murder in the killing of 18-year old Baylee Wylie.

Second degree murder comes with an automatic life sentence and no parole eligibility for 10 to 25 years.

Noel was scheduled to go to trial this fall on charges of first degree murder and arson.

Justice Stephen McNally will preside over Noel’s two day sentencing hearing starting July 12th.

As the Crown lawyer was reading out the agreed statement of facts, sobs could be heard from members of Wylie’s family.

His mother, aunt, and grandfather were in court today, and his aunt said they were planning to release a statement later today.

Noel is one of three people charged with first degree murder and arson relating to the slaying of Wylie on December 17th, 2015.

Devin Morningstar was the first to go to trial, and was found guilty of first degree murder and arson on November 11th.

He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

Marissa June Shephard is the third individual who was charged, and she waived her right to a preliminary hearing at a court appearance Monday.

A date for Shephard’s trial will be set on June 5th.
