River Glade Woman and Her Dog Quake Win Silver And Bronze At World Agility Competition

It was a successful trip to Spain for a River Glade woman and her dog Quake.

Christine Neklia-Thibodeau and her border collie competed at the IFCS World Agility Championships.

She says they set a goal to win one medal at the international level,

“We went on to earn silver in our second class at the event, which was called the Snooker event. Then we went on to exceed our goal and won a bronze medal in the Team Relay with two other competitors.”

Quake has a couple of days off, and Neklia-Thibodeau says he’ll spend sometime recovering from his long trip,

“He has been spending some time relaxing in the sun in the backyard and we’ve been on a few hikes. I started back to the gym this morning. We definitely have goals set for 2018, and we want to hopefully win gold next time.”

Winning two medals is definitely a big deal for Neklia-Thibodeau, and for Quake, “Every run, whether it is a high or low run, he comes off happy. He is just happy to play the game. He comes off wagging his tail and with a big smile on his face. He knows he has done well.”

It won’t be long before they start training again for their next competition in August, which is the Canadian Nationals, which is being held in British Columbia.
