More than 45,000 cyberattacks have been recorded in more than 74 countries, according to Internet Security company Kaspersky.

The “Wanna Cry” ransomware encrypts files, preventing user access, and demands money before the files will be released.
In this case, the payment must be made before a countdown expires or the hackers claim the files will be destroyed.

National Health Service hospitals in the United Kingdom were targeted with 16 organizations affected, and Russian Interior Ministry reports more than 1,000 computers were affected.
Nobody has claimed responsibility for this attack.
Our newsroom reached out to Horizon Health, Vitalité and the provincial government to see if they had been affected or if they were prepared for such an eventuality but we have heard nothing back so far.
