In the Stanley Cup playoffs, Ottawa scored three goals in just over 2 minutes of the first period to chase goalie Marc-Andre Fleury as the Senators beat Pittsburgh 5-1 to take a two games to one lead in the Eastern Conference final. Former Sea Dog Mike Hoffman opened the scoring just 48 seconds in.

The Saint John Alpines of the NB Senior Baseball League are getting ready to take the field for their home opener, this Saturday afternoon at 2:00. The Charlottetown lslanders will be in town for a doubleheader being played at Memorial Field on Dever Road.
