Summer Event Lineup for 2017 Unveiled

The Market Square boardwalk comes to life in the summertime with all of the events that take place and we now know what’s in store for the summer of 2017.

The event line-up has been released and includes the official summer kick-off in Saint John on June 23 which is the Taste of the Boardwalk, where artist Deanna Musgrave will unveil her Canada 150 mural, fireworks from the Coast Guard site at dusk and more.

This year is the 13th Canada Day Countdown and there will be a fireworks display at midnight that features 101 shots to celebrate the arrival of Canada’s 150 birthday and the music will be rockin’ as well as the Hardman Group’s Stephany Peterson tells us.

“The roster for June 30 specifically, Ria Mae, Said the Whale, the Wooden Sky, Greg MacPherson, Shrimp Ring and one more, you just have to be patient we’re announcing that one soon,” says Peterson.

We asked Peterson what she was most looking forward to this year and she says there’s a certain moment during June 30 when the enrgy is very tangible.

“There’s just that one particular moment at, least for me from behind the scenes, where I have a moment to actually look around and see upwards of 10,000 people all celebrating together and in the same purpose being that we’ve got some amazing music all free of charge and it’s all in celebration of our country,” says Peterson.

“It’s a pretty good moment.”
