Saint John Fire Fighters spent four hours at the scene of a structure fire at 1826 Hickey Road.
The blaze was called in around 7:10 by someone who said they saw flames coming from the roof.
When crews arrived they found flames at a corner of the house right up to the roof and began fighting it.
They got the fire out in the roof and then opened walls to check for hot spots.
The all clear was given before midnight. Nineteen personnel were at the scene, no injuries were reported and no occupants were in the building at the time.
The cause is not yet known.
