That from the Presaident of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and former federal cabinet minister Perrin Beatty on pipeline reviews, possibly re-writing NAFTA and the softwood lumber issue.
Beatty says the Gallant Liberals have made a very smart move by hiring former U.S. ambassador to Canada David Wilkins.
He says David will lend a hand as New Brunswick’s special envoy in the softwood lumber tariff dispute.
Beatty says Wilkins is not only a very capable administer but a good friend of his and good friend to Canada.
Beatty says Wilkins and his colleagues from the Federal government will have to present a practical win-win solution to the Trump adminstration.
He says when a new softwood lumber agreement takes effect, he can guarantee it will make the American homebuilders appreciate how much they depend on the wood produced in New Brunswick and how important it is for them.
