TD Bank To Open New Business Services Centre, Creating 575 Jobs In Province

An announcement this morning that will bring more jobs to Greater Moncton, and the province. TD Bank will open a new business services Centre in 2019 to create 575 full time jobs over a six year period. The jobs will be in Customer Service, and support a number of their business lines. A location has not been secured as of yet. Once a location has been secured, TD will provide more details about recruitment and training opportunities.

This is TD Bank’s second business Centre in the province. Their current business service centre in Saint John employs about 700 people.

Deputy Chair of TD and former NB Premier Frank McKenna says, “Moncton is a vibrant community and we are elated to be expanding our presence here, creating long term employment opportunities for its residents.”

Premier Brian Gallant says it is hoped that this will help employ qualified individuals already in the province…as well as attract others from across the country, “We have a strong workforce. We have a reputation across the country in North America as being the best when it comes to business services. I think that is what pushed it over the edge. We have no doubt the TD is really serious about this. It has taken us five years to get here, so I know that like us, they want to have these jobs open up very soon.”

This new Centre will contribute an estimated over $106 million to the province’s GDP over six years.

As a part of this deal, Opportunities New Brunswick is offering $6.8 million in the form of a forgiveable loan. It will be divided up and given in stages. The first funds will be provided when TD Bank secures a location, the second, will be given when employees begin taking calls at the cente and the final amount, when TD Bank is staffing 200 full times employees at the centre.
