Today is World AIDS Day, a time to commemorate the fight against the disease and remember those who lost their battle with it.

The Red Scarf campaign finishes up today when scarves either purchased or donated are wrapped around trees and lights in King Square by AIDS Saint John and given to those who need them the most.
Julie Dingwell of AIDS Saint John says they do more than just help those afflicted with HIV.
She says they work with people with Hepatitis C, on all sexually transmitted infections and they have a needle distribution program as well.
Dingwell says the needle exchange program this year could reach 300,000 needle handed out which would be a record.
