Prime Minister Trudeau And President Trump Reaffirm Commitment To “Deep Economic Relationship”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and US President Donald Trump are reaffirming their commitment to a strong economic partnership.

They met this weekend as both were attending the G7 summit in Italy.

A news release from the Prime Minister’s Office says trade between the US and Canada supports job creation on both sides of the border, as well as the growth of the middle class.

That trade relationship was valued at almost $882 billion in 2016.

The release says the leaders discussed a range of issues of mutual interest including international security.

They also stressed the importance of shared leadership on issues of global concern as a way to promote peace and prosperity.
