It is Disability awareness week.
This is the 30th anniversary of the week, and the theme for this year is “We Need In”, and raising awareness of the need to include those who have disabilities in society.
It is a week coordinated by volunteers along with the Premier’s Council on the Status of Disabled persons, along with the Neil Squire Society.
It is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements over the the years to accommodate and include those with disabilities and to look at objectives going forward.
The kickoff was held yesterday afternoon in Moncton.
Several other events are planned throughout the week.
