New Brunswick Federation Of Labour President Given Third Term

The President of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour was given a third mandate at their 53rd Convention this past week.

Patrick Colford says he is looking forward to working with all affiliates over the next two years to continue building a strong labour movement.

He adds workers deserve a safe and healthy workplace, as well as fair compensation when injured at work.

Colford says people deserve to live in a province where corporations and wealthy individuals pay their fair share of taxes to fund the public services citizens rely on.

He goes even further by saying costly public-private partnerships have no place in this province.

The New Brunswick Federation of Labour represents more than 40,000 workers from every sector of the economy and every community in the province.

Other Labour Officers for the NBFL were also appointed at the Convention:

  • Chuck Rouse, Unifor: Secretary-Treasurer (2nd term)
  • John Gagnon, United Steelworkers: First Vice-President (2nd term)
  • Nancy Arseneau, New Brunswick Nurses Union: Second Vice-President
  • Troy LeBlanc, Bakery Confectionary Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union: Vice-President Responsible for Young Workers
  • Shanny Doucet, Public Service Alliance of Canada: Vice-President Responsible for Women’s Issues
