Despite controversy surrounding property tax assessments, New Brunswick Liberals continue to be the preferred party in the province according to a new poll from Corporate Research Associates.
The survey found the Liberals had 46 percent support which was a slight drop from the last quarter while the Progressive Conservatives edged up to 33 percent, the NDP had 11 percent, the Greens had 6 percent and the People’s Alliance captured 3 percent.
Just over half of New Brunswickers polled are satisfied with the government’s performance while 41 percent say they are dissatisfied.
As for preferred leader, support for Premier Brian Gallant rests at 31 percent which is down slightly from the previous survey while support for PC leader Blaine Higgs remains steady at 23 percent and the Green Party’s David Coon had 11 percent.
CRA polled 804 adult New Brunswickers by telephone during the month of May.
