The cable broke yesterday afternoon on the Westfield ferry shortly after 3:30.
The ferry was anchored before it could drift down the river.
There was a school bus on the ferry at the time with 11 students along with a couple of cars and the crew members. It took something like 2 and a half hours before everyone was able to get off.
