Conservatives Call For Acceptance Of Auditor-General’s Recommendations

The Social Development critic for the provincial Conservatives is calling for the Auditor-General’s recommendations on government contracts be adopted. This follows her criticism of a $13 million contract from Social Development that had no clear objectives but which included $5.8 million in performance fees.

Ernie Steeves, the M-L-A for Moncton Northwest, says the sooner things change, the better but he points out a couple of motions that would see this happen, by the Conservatives and Green Party leader David Coon, were rejected by the Liberals in the Public Accounts Committee.
