Ornament Serves As A Tribute To A Dismantled Covered Bridge

It’s a unique tribute to a part of our regional history that in some cases no longer exists.

Tamara Langstroth creates ornaments that are replicas of covered bridges including the Hammond River bridge #2 that was dismantled earlier this year.

Langstroth was part of the fight to save the bridge and CHSJ News asked her why she wanted to save it.

She says every year and a half it seems like New Brunswick is losing another covered bridge addding she took the loss of the French Village bridge extremely hard.

Langstroth says she used to swim and fish under there and she likes its loss to losing a family member.

She is also creating Covered Bridge ornaments that are replicas of real bridges in the U.S. and other briges in New Brunswick including bridges in Darling’s Island and Hartland.
