A woman who helped draft the Clean Air Act in New Brunswick 20 years ago has written the Premier to offer her services to help with a real plan for issuing a carbon tax.
Judy LeBlanc says the re-purposing of gas tax money to be used to fight climate change is very weak which is echoed by the federal environment minister Catherine McKenna.
Leblanc says the Premier needs to sit down after the holidays are over, gather all the stakeholders and brainstorm to come up with a good plan.
Leblanc says if the Gallant government does not come up with a real carbon tax plan the Prime Minister will lose patience with us and in 13 months impose a federal levy on carbon in this province.
