Christmas May Be Very White and Messy

A green Christmas seems very unlikely this year.

A storm system moving into our region could bring 20 centimetres of snow on Monday (Christmas Day) and gusty winds leading to reduced visibility in blowing snow.

It will also impact water levels creating rough and pounding surf along the Acadian coast start on Monday night.

For today, you can expect a couple of centimetres of snow before it switches to rain. There is also a risk of freezing rain this afternoon.

The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization reminds everyone to be careful walking or driving because surfaces can be slippery and poor weather conditions can lead to delays.

NB EMO also says everyone should be ready in case of an emergency or power outage and to have everything you need for at least 72 hours after a storm.
