A big proponent of self driving cars is an engineering professor at U-N-B who has received national recognition for his work on transportation safety.
Dr. Eric Hildebrand claims more highways will not have to be built because the capacity on our existing highways could be quadrupled with self driving vehicles.
Dr. Hildebrand also argues the roads and highways will be safer with self driving cars because from 90 to 93 per cent of collisions are caused by human error.
