Jeff McAloon of the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation says the pediatric unit had not been touched since it was built in the 80’s.
He tells us this upgrade provides much needed space for families and patients but will support the staff with education and research opportunities.
He hopes they take away the message that the community is behind them. McAloon add many people don’t think about the Regional as a pediatric hospital but it is adding very few patients have to leave the centre for care.
