Five Arrested After Shooting And Police Chase In Calais

A busy night for the Calais Police Department with a shooting and car chase.

Calais PD say they responded to a report of shots fired around 11pm Wednesday night, December 27th, in the Barker Street and Calais Motor Inn area.

After speaking with the victim, who was not hurt in the shooting, they found out two men had opened fire on the victim and were able to get a description of the vehicle the suspects were driving.

Police say a short time later, that vehicle was spotted heading north on Baring Street and was pulled over at the traffic circle in Calais.

At this point, officers say the driver attempted to flee, but was caught by police and arrested.

The remaining four people in the car then took off, and led police on a chase to Brookton, Maine, where they were all eventually arrested as well.

Police are currently trying to identify several of those who were arrested.
