More Charges Stemming From Shooting In Calais

Another twist in a scary incident over the border that involved a shooting, a police chase, and multiple arrests.

Calais Police say on Wednesday, January 3rd, they filed an affidavit for an arrest warrant on 25 year old Brittany Wescott from Baileyville, Maine.

The warrant was granted, and charged her with aggravated attempted murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.

Wescott turned herself in to the Washington County Jail Wednesday afternoon around 1:30pm.

The charges stem from December 27th, where police say five men in a vehicle shot at another man near the Calais Motor Inn. The victim was not injured.

Police caught up to the vehicle at the traffic circle in Calais, where the driver attempted to flee, but was caught and arrested.

The other occupants in the vehicle then led police on a chase to Brookton, Maine, where the four men eventually took off on foot in separate directions, but were ultimately caught and taken into custody.

Police say one of the men is 27 year old Stephen Perkins from Baileyville, Maine, and the other four range in age from 20 to 26 and are all from the Bronx area of New York City.

The five men were charged with aggravated attempted murder with the possibility of more charges.
