Carbon Monoxide Detected At One Market Square On Sunday

A smell of natural gas lead to the evacuation of One Market Square Sunday by the Saint John Fire department.

They were called there shortly before noon after some restaurant workers said they noticed a natural gas odour.

Upon using their detection equipment a small amount of carbon monoxide was found and the evacuation was ordered as a precaution.

Then they got in touch with key holders of the various offices and did a sweep of them along with Enbridge Gas until the all clear was given and patrons were allowed back in.
