Government spending is the problem in New Brunswick and the options emerging from the Strategic Program Review don’t address that. That criticism being levelled by Kevin Lacey, Atlantic Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
Lacey questions why there are 769 more provincial government employees earning 100 thousand dollars a year than there were four years ago.
He estimates if the HST is raised by two per cent next year, it will cost the average family, with two people working, from 900 to a thousand dollars annoually.
