Saturday Morning Sports – July 11th 2015

The 2015 Eastern Canadian Rugby Championships are being held this weekend at Belleisle Regional High School with teams from all over the country participating. Today’s games start at 8 o’clock this morning and will run all weekend long.

In the NHL

The Chicago Blackhawks have traded forward Patrick Sharp and prospect Stephen Johns to the Dallas Stars in exchange for defenseman Trevor Daley and forward Ryan Garrbutt.

The move by the Blackhawks was made to free up cap space, Sharp has two years remaining on his contract with an average annual salary of $5.9 million.

Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty injured his knee during an off-ice workout this week and is expected to miss the next 12 weeks.

IN MLB

The Toronto Blue Jays were shut out by the Kansas City Royals by a score of 3-0 and the New York Yankees beat up on the Boston Red Sox 5-1.

In the CFL

Edmonton beat Ottawa 46-17, Winnipeg came out on top against Montreal 25-23 and BC beat Saskatchewan 35-32.
