Brush Fire Near Petitcodiac Forces Family To Flee

A family of three near Petitcodiac had to be evacuated late yesterday after a brush fire got too close to their home.

The Department of Natural Resources was concerned about heavy smoke and contacted the Red Cross.

Disaster volunteers have arranged emergency lodging, food and clothing for a woman and her two children, ages six and nine.

It’s not clear when they can return home.
