Saint John Major Crime Unit Kept Busy On Thursday

A pretty hectic day for the Saint John Police department on Thursday.

It began with a reported robbery at Jones’ Variety. Police were told a man in a hoodie and mask entered the store demanding money, a suspect was picked up a short time later.

Then it was off to Sitel Call Centre on Macdonald Street East after reports several large windows had been smashed out, the K-9 unit was called in and a male suspect was picked up a short time later.

A call came in from Roxbury Drive after reports a woman had been involved in a hit and run.

A woman pedestrian was struck by an SUV which fled the scene. Police found the suspect vehicle and arrested a man and woman who will make a court appearance.

Major Crime is investigating all three incidents.
