The issue of derelict buildings and properties in North end Saint John prompted Mayor Don Darling to do a Facebook live video on the weekend.
Darling says there are 300 such properties identified and the city has already managed to deal with 80 of them.
Darling says some are being repaired but he is urging people to stay away from any dilapidated buildings.
” But if they can’t they should come down because they are a tremendous risk to you the public, they are a tremendous risk to our first responders, police and firefighters as well, stay out of those buildings unsafe,” says Mayor Darling.
Darling did a Facebook live video on the weekend after being tagged into some pictures of houses with spray painted words like fix this on them.
