With the Fire Department contending with a major fire on Prince Edward Street, city plows and other resources have been diverted to that area to assist with emergency snow removal.
There will not be a snow ban in the South Central Peninsula tonight. Today’s snow removal will focus on pushing the snow back and removing the snow in the uptown areas where people don’t live.
Snow ban parking lots will be open for vehicles tonight free of charge from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Residents are being asked to park off the streets so that plows can clear the roads. Available lots include……Corner of Princess and Charlotte……King Street East…….Peters Street……..Carmarthen Street/Vineyard Church…….Mecklenburg Street at Wentworth……Corner of Charlotte and Queen Street at Key Industries (entrance on Queen Street).
A snow ban is expected to be called tomorrow night.
In the wake of the heavy snowfall we have received, and with more on its way, a comprehensive snow removal plan is being developed for the South-Centreal Peninsula for the next two weeks. This plan will include round the clock snow removal.
