It’s been a white and wild week in Charlotte County with too many snow storms to shovel out from.
Environment Canada meteorologist Claude Cote tells us last night’s blizzard, alone, reported 20-30 cms of snow in Charlotte County. But, he says, just over the border in Maine, up to 46 cms of snow was reported.
Cote says in Grand Manan, maximum winds gusts reached as high as 76 kms per hour, and the hardest hit area in the province was Moncton with 43 cms of snow reported.
Charlotte County has been hit with four big snow storms, including two blizzards, since January 23rd.
Cote says in a week and a half, Charlotte County has received 100 cms of snow.
He says, normally, amounts of snow on the ground at this time of year average about 15 cms. He says right now those levels are way above normal with around 60 cms of snow being measured.
