Lowe Weighs In on Horse Racing Lawsuit

With the news Horse Racing New Brunswick is suing the province over what it claims is a breach of contract over the introduction of more VLTS and a proposed partnership with the Woodstock First Nation, Common Councillor Gerry Lowe describes the decline of harness racing in the province as a vicious cycle.

He tells CHSJ News the number of people with horses in New Brunswick has gone down due to the decline in the sport, which in turn has led to a further depression in harness racing.

Lowe has long been a member of the Saint John Exhibition Association, which is not involved in the lawsuit. He says they’ll be keeping an eye on what happens–because if the lawsuit is sucessful, it certainly would be a game-changer.
