Crime Rate Falls In Province

Crime in New Brunswick is on the way down according to the provincial R-C-M-P’s annual report.

The overall crime rate dropped last year led by an eight per cent dip in property crimes.

Violent crime is down 26 per cent and the number of fatal crashes is also the lowest its been since 1956.

However, there were some challenges last year.

The Mounties say the number of robberies and reported sex offences rose as did customs infractions.

Eleven drivers who were killed in car crashes were not wearing their seatbelts.
