At the Canadian Junior Baseball Championship in Dartmouth, the Port City Pirates won their opener 8-2 over B-C with Shawn Reid getting the win. Devin Thomas had a homer and Adam Clark drove in three runs. The Pirates take on Manitoba this morning and Nova Scotia this afternoon.

In the Majors, the Jays, Orioles and Yankees had the night off……Dustin Pedroia’s two-run double capped a seven-run sixth inning sending the Red Sox to their fourth straight win, 9-4 over the Houston Astros.

It looks like Edwin Encarnacion will be rejoining the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend for their series in Chicago against the White Sox.
