A Former Mountie Gets 4 Years In Prison

A former New Brunswick Mountie who admitted to possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking has been sentenced to four years in prison.

51 year-old Albert Charles Michelin was arrested in Salisbury during an undercover operation back in November 2013.

Michelin was a Constable with the R-C-M-P at the time, but had been suspended with pay after an unrelated code of conduct investigation.

He has since retired.

During sentencing on Wednesday, court heard Michelin…an Innu…planned to sell the drugs to connections in his Labrador First Nations community.

Judge Anne Dugas-Horsman called the situation “sad” and stated Michelin’s actions were difficult to rationalize.
