Ryan Roy Sentenced To Life In Prison For 2nd-Degree Murder In Mother’s Death

New Brunswick man Ryan Roy has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 16 years for second-degree murder in the death of his mother near Florenceville-Bristol.

He appeared in court in Woodstock today for sentencing.

Back in March emergency crews were called to a fire at a home in Peel and the body of 52-year-old Phyllis Roy was found inside the burned home.

Roy was sentenced to eight years in federal prison for arson however he will serve that sentence at the same time as the sentence for second-degree murder.

He plead guilty to both charges on November 12.
