The new Executive-Director at Uptown Saint John began work this week after coming here from Halifax.
Nancy Tissington is originally from Rothesay and tells CHSJ News she learned a lot from her experience in revitalising the Spring Garden area of Halifax over the past few years.
Tissington says it’s clear the political will is there, which is half the battle, to revitalise the core of the city with Plan SJ which will be coming before Common Council on Monday. One aim of Plan SJ is to breathe new life into the uptown.
Despite the flight of young people for jobs out west, Tissington says baby boomers who want to downsize are looking at living in the city centre.
