Premier: Gallant Needs To “Go Back To School” On Fracking

With the premier saying the retrofit of the LNG Terminal would be impossible without a domestic supply of shale gas, Liberal Leader Brian Gallant suggests that they read their own report issued by Jupia consulting.

According to Gallant, the report states the most important thing is to have the northeastern states able to access the terminal, and only briefly mentions domestic shale gas. Further, he tells CHSJ News we don’t live off the avails of fracking out West, as the premier alleges.

Gallant says our economy wasn’t built on fracking, and developing our natural resources responsibly is the crucial idea.

Meanwhile, Premier David Alward is sticking to his guns on the essential role fracking has to play in the retrofit. He tells CHSJ News Brian Gallant “needs to go back to school,” asking how Gallant can support the development of a pipeline from Alberta to Saint John, or the retrofit of the LNG, when he doesn’t support what’s in them.
