If you’re a Saint Johner who’s been thinking about making the jump from renter to home-owner, now could be a good time to do so.
The Royal LePage House Price Survey and Market Forecast showing during the last quarter of last year the average price of a home around here dropped 3.2-percent. So says Manager of the Saint John-Sussex branch of Royal LePage Atlantic Steve Hughson who says, “I don’t forsee that going much further to be honest with you, I think they’re gonna steady out in 2016, that’s just the feel that I have with some of the things that I’m seeing within the office and with agents and listings.”
The median price of a two-story home went down 3.9-percent to just over $230,000 and bungalow prices went down 2.3-percent to just over $188,000.
He says on the seller’s side last year was the best year since 2010 in terms of units sold.
